Dear Backers,

We hope you've had a great week thus far. We're going to detail our progress in the past months and an exciting update- Pearl's first batch is on its way via freight to our HQ in California!

Our last update was expecting the first batch in June, and we sincerely apologize for the delay. It's been our top priority to get Pearlbuds into your hands as fast as possible. The primary reason for the delay is that two core engineers within our manufacturing facility resigned from the company. (in Guangzhou) It took some time to find replacements and finish producing the first batch of earbuds.

We meant to update earlier but we've been locked out of our company email due to technical difficulties with Gsuite (pearlbuds.com). We will be locating to a new domain this week and opening a new customer service email ASAP.

In the meantime, we've taken steps to create higher quality leather packaging/carrying case as seen below, and to ensure product quality testing has been done rigorously.

We've been advised that freight shipping to California will take an estimated 30 days and we've prepared logistics in Los Angeles to begin shipping to our first 1,000 backers on September 1st. Following backers will receive their product within 60 days of the first 1,000 backers receiving their earbuds.

Crowdfunding and developing a new product has been a new and amazing challenge for us to take on, and we cannot express in words our appreciation for your patience as our first backers. We will do everything we can to expedite the process of getting Pearlbuds into your hands!

Dear Indiegogo Community,

This campaign has been brought to our attention by some of our backers, who have alerted us that they never received their perk. Campaign owners are required by our Terms of Use to fulfill their perks or issue refunds to backers. At this point, funds for this campaign have already been disbursed to the campaign owner, so Indiegogo is unable to refund the contributions made by the backers. We share in your disappointment and frustration here.

Due to evidence of unfulfillment of perks and unresponsiveness from the campaign owner, Indiegogo has conducted an investigation into this campaign. We’ve reached out to the campaign owner several times ourselves with no response. Because of the lengthy delays since we first granted them production status, we’ve revoked their production stage product badge. Please see our Community Guidelines for actions we may take on campaigns under investigation, up to and including restricting the campaign owner's future activities on Indiegogo.

In the meantime, we encourage backers to reach out directly to the campaign owner for a solution. We've seen campaigns offer a variety of solutions, including a full or partial refund, alternative perks, or discounts on a similar product. Please see their contact information below:

Dear Backers,

We know you've been tremendously patient with Pearl, and we thank you for being oustanding first customers. Your patience and support has not gone unnoticed by our team.

Now, it's time to get your Pearl Earbuds.

During the past six months, we've refined many small details and functions of our product to be more user-friendly and enjoyable to use. We've made major improvements to all aspects of our product noted in the previous update, including primarily 1) Touch sensitivity 2) Solar charging and 3) Audio static. We've also altered our initial packaging design to compete with current wireless products on the market, with better materials and more reusability in mind.

We're incredibly excited to announce shipment of Pearl to our first 1,000 Contribution ID's starting in late May and ending in June. First contributors will be a valuable feedback loop for us to know what to further improve on, and following this batch we will release the remaining 2,000 contribution ID's to complete delivery to all Indiegogo backers. In the coming weeks, here's what to expect:

1) Confirmation of delivery address and color

 - Our team will run a final confirmation of your address and desired color. We're doing this manually to ensure accuracy, as some of you might have moved addresses or changed your mind about the color. This has been a hot topic in our company inbox, so please understand that it's worth the time for us to manually confirm each order with you.

2) Receipt of Fedex/USPS tracking

- All Pearl orders will be shipped TRACKED. We will do our best to ensure the correct tracking number is sent to you within four weeks of our initial follow-up to confirm your order.

Again, we reiterate that we believe you'll love the final product. Remember that we welcome any feedback about Pearl, and we'd love to hear from you about how we can improve our product. Dear Pearl Backers,

Thank you so much for your patience while we update you on production and delivery, following the finalization of our production ready prototypes. We haven’t moved as fast as we’ve liked on production, and most of this is due to final technical issues in regards to the product. We’d like to go over some of these issues and explain to you why we are delivering with a slight delay again over these issues.

1. Touch sensitivity

Over testing, we’ve realized that gesture control is not as sensitive as we’d like. This means that volume control, song pause/play, and other tap/swiping gestures are sometimes unresponsive. To our team, this is unacceptable because this is a crucial function of any TWS. We believe in fixing this to at least the standards of other TWS on the market before shipping.

     2.  Solar charging efficiency

Although solar charging so far has worked in 99% of products tested, the charging process itself is slow and impractical. We want to improve this function to a level that can actually help our users in a situation where they would actually need solar charging. This is not a common use, but when it’s needed it must be practical and help out a user when they need power most. (on a run, hike, etc.)

Following this update, we are continuing to fix these inefficiencies and promise that a delay will not be for nothing. You (as our backers) will receive a much improved product that meets your expectations much more than the current finalized prototype. Again, we appreciate your patience as you wait again for us to finalize the product. We understand some of these delays are frustrating and even seem unnecessary at times, but we want to give you an excellent product especially after a long wait.

The new delivery date will be February, 2021. We will work as hard as possible to reach this deadline, and are working everyday with our manufacturers to improve the product and hit this date.
